In 1999, Jimmy Davis was awarded the prestigious National Quality Dealer of the Year award. Each year, one dealer from across the country is selected by the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association (NIADA) to represent the highest standard of excellence in the industry. This honor is based on outstanding service to customers, the community, and the automotive profession.

Jimmy believed strongly in family values and community involvement. He was active in his church and proudly supported local Little League Baseball programs.

A past president of the Virginia Independent Automobile Dealers Association (VIADA), Jimmy took great pride in being an independent auto dealer. His dedication to honesty, customer satisfaction, and professionalism is reflected in the business, his family, and the team he built.

Jimmy’s legacy continues through the values he instilled in Davis Auto Sales, where customers can expect to be treated with fairness, respect, and integrity.

Jimmy was also a Certified Master Dealer (CMD).

Gail Davis

Gail has handled the accounting and computer operations for Davis Auto Sales for over 30 years while also maintaining a full-time career outside the business. She and Jimmy have always worked as a strong team, both at home and at the dealership.

Now retired from a 37-year career as a lead technology analyst for a large international company, Gail brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role at the dealership. She has taken on many new responsibilities and, as President of the corporation, plays a key role in the company’s continued growth and success.

Gail is a Past President of the Virginia Independent Automobile Dealers Association (VIADA) and was honored as the 2008 VIADA State Quality Dealer of the Year.

Gail is also a Certified Master Dealer (CMD). Gail was recently appointed by the Virginia Governor to serve on a 4 year term of the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board.

WHAT’S A CERTIFIED MASTER DEALER®?

A Certified Master Dealer, a CMD®, is a professional automobile dealer who has demonstrated their commitment to the used motor vehicle industry, to consumers and who supports ethical business standards and principles. They have met the rigid criteria that qualify them as a candidate for the certification program developed by the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association and Northwood University.

The CMD® dealer has successfully completed a 32 hour training program that includes general management strategies, financial management principles, successful merchandising techniques, effective human resource practices, and appropriate business planning. They maintain their professional certification by completing at least 12 hours of continuing education every 36 months.

JW Davis

As the first son, JW has shown a strong interest in the auto sales business from a young age, growing up in and around the operation. His drive and energy have been key factors in his success within the company.

JW oversees and manages the sales side of the business as well as the Off-Road Shop. Despite his busy schedule, he always takes the time to help customers find the perfect vehicle or the right parts to build one to their needs. He also excels in his role as purchasing agent.

JW brings confidence, professionalism, and a strong willingness to work with both customers and vendors. His courteous, honest, and helpful approach makes him a valuable part of the Davis Auto Sales team.

JW is a Certified Master Dealer (CMD).

Alvin

Alvin brings over 8 years of experience in automobile detailing to Davis Auto Sales. Originally from Pennsylvania, he joined our team after spending two years at a local auto detail shop.

Alvin is responsible for ensuring our vehicles look top-notch on the lot, taking pride in the quality and appearance of each one. We are pleased to have him on our staff, and you will be just as impressed when you see his work.

Julie

Julie brings a diverse background to Davis Auto Sales, including experience in administration, inside sales, and as a former business owner. Her range of knowledge and expertise is extensive and a valuable asset to our team.

She is often the first person you will speak with when calling or visiting the dealership. Julie handles a variety of responsibilities, including processing credit applications, preparing sale paperwork, managing vendor accounting, and greeting walk-in customers while assisting wherever needed.

Her organization, professionalism, and willingness to help make her an important part of our daily operations.

Mike

Mike is a part-time team member working Saturdays at Davis Auto Sales. He brings a background in sales of automotive accessories and products before joining our team.

You will find Mike friendly, approachable, and always willing to assist with your needs to the best of his ability. His positive attitude and willingness to help make him a great addition to our staff.

Mike

Mike is a long-time employee and trusted family friend of Davis Auto Sales. Known for his easygoing personality and zero-pressure approach, he is more focused on building relationships than simply making a sale, making customers feel comfortable throughout their entire experience.

With a strong background in commercial truck, van, and automotive sales, Mike has developed a wide range of skills that allow him to wear many hats within the dealership. He is actively involved in sales, managing social media listings, and handling prep work for a variety of vehicles, including work trucks and heavy-duty units that come through our doors.

Mike’s experience, versatility, and friendly approach make him a valuable part of the Davis Auto Sales team, and someone customers and staff alike can always rely on.

AJ

AJ brings a diverse background to Davis Auto Sales, including several years as a UPS supervisor, experience as a service writer, certifications as a forklift and heavy equipment operator, and training in Architectural Engineering Design.

At Davis Auto Sales, AJ handles a wide range of responsibilities, including inventory management, keeping our website up to date, preparing sale documents, and assisting with social media content. He also plays an important role in day-to-day operations by helping arrange vehicle transport, working directly with customers, and assisting on the lot with tasks such as organizing and shuffling vehicles as needed.

His versatility, attention to detail, and willingness to step in wherever needed make him a valuable part of our team and daily operations.

Trista

We are extremely excited to announce Trista as a third-generation member of our full-time staff at Davis Auto Sales. Trista recently graduated from Amelia Academy with high academic honors and served as Student Government President.

Having grown up around the family business, Trista brings both familiarity and a fresh perspective to our daily operations. She assists with a variety of tasks, including customer interaction, administrative support, and social media, helping keep our dealership connected and up to date.

Her leadership, strong work ethic, and natural drive to excel make her a valuable addition to our team. We are proud to have her as part of the next generation, helping move Davis Auto Sales forward.

David

David plays a key role in lot management and the coordination of vehicle movement throughout Davis Auto Sales. He is responsible for orchestrating vehicles through multiple shops, including service, inspection, and other necessary shop procedures.

His organization and attention to timing help keep operations running smoothly and ensure vehicles are where they need to be at the right time. David’s steady coordination and behind-the-scenes management are an important part of keeping our inventory and workflow on track.

Calvin

Calvin is responsible for maintaining the grounds at Davis Auto Sales, including cutting grass and handling general property upkeep to keep everything clean and presentable for our customers.

He started with us part-time and, after graduating from Amelia Academy, recently joined the team full-time. Calvin brings valuable hands-on experience from working on his family’s farm and in a clearing-and-grading business.

His strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever needed make him a great addition to our team.

Dave

Dave joined Davis Auto Sales part-time after retiring from a remarkable 43-year career as a top Ford technician. During his time there, he worked through three generations of ownership and outlasted nearly every employee—an impressive testament to his dedication and expertise.

He brings a wealth of knowledge in both gas and diesel engines and plays a key role in the preparation process by performing thorough checkovers on incoming vehicles. Dave’s experience and attention to detail make him a valuable addition to our team.
